Although there are a lot of parts, it was relatively easy to put together (I only needed a hand when putting on the first two cross bars to make the frame) once you assemble each beam, and it is not heavy like the wooden pergolas. I bolted it to my wooden roof deck and it is very solid - I am in a high wind area so I don't leave the canopy open when I am not using it. The canopy is a good thick material, not flimsy at all.

I received this pergola on time. I love the product. It's exactly what I wanted. One thing though that caused me to rate it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the image and description do not match what I got. It is what I wanted but I had to take a chance and hope that the product arrived in the darker color that other buyers had mentioned. The posts are a dark grey color but were described as white which works better for me since I have kids and dogs and white is not a good color with either. The fabric is also lighter than pictured but it still works. I was able to assemble this by myself only referring to the instructions for reference. I'm 5'5" and a woman with some handy skills. It took me about an hour and a half to two hours, and would have been much quicker if I had waited for help but I was too excited. Overall I love this item and am happy with it. If anything changes though I will be sure to update.
