How Inflatables Work
Q: How do inflatables work?
All bounce houses, bouncers, moonwalks, water slides, and obstacle courses depend on continuous airflow. You keep the blower running at all times — the unit stays inflated as long as the blower is on. You'll notice air flowing freely through the seams, which is completely normal and by design.
Q: Can I over-inflate my bounce house?
No — it's not possible to over-inflate. Every inflatable is made from breathable material specifically to allow air to pass through freely. That airflow through the seams is what gives the inflatable its characteristic bounce feel. Simply leave the blower running and you're all set.
Q: How long does it take to inflate and deflate?
Most inflatables inflate in under 2 minutes with the included blower. Deflation takes under 5 minutes — turn off the blower, open the air vents, and gently push remaining air out as the unit collapses. Exact times vary by unit size; check your product page for specifics.
Q: How long will my inflatable last?
Commercial-grade inflatables built with 18 oz. PVC vinyl routinely last 5–10 years under rental use with proper care. Residential units last several seasons for backyard use. All our units come with manufacturer warranties — see the individual product page for warranty details by brand.
Residential vs. Commercial
Q: What's the difference between residential and commercial units?
Commercial units are built for repeated rental use — heavy-duty 18 oz. PVC vinyl, quadruple-stitched seams, and continuous-duty blowers rated for 8+ hours. They're designed for party rental companies, churches, schools, and events. Residential units use lighter material and are intended for occasional backyard use by children only. If you're starting a rental business, always choose commercial grade.
Q: How many people can use a bounce house at once?
Capacity varies by unit size and design. Each product page lists the specific weight limit and rider capacity for that unit. As a general rule: standard 13×13 bounce houses hold 6–8 children, larger combo units hold 8–12. Always follow the manufacturer's capacity guidelines — overloading is the most common cause of preventable damage.
Q: Can bounce houses be used indoors?
Yes — many of our units work perfectly in gymnasiums, convention centers, and large event spaces. You'll still need to anchor the unit even indoors; with constant bouncing, the unit will gradually drift if not secured. Check the unit's inflated height against your ceiling clearance before booking an indoor event.
Q: Can I use a water slide without water?
Absolutely. All our water slides and wet/dry combo units can be run in dry mode — just don't connect a hose. Running dry extends your rental season through fall and spring when water play isn't appropriate. Our wet/dry combo collection is specifically designed for easy switching between modes in under 5 minutes.
Setup, Safety & Transport
Q: How hard is it to set up and move an inflatable?
Most standard bounce houses can be set up by 2 people in 10–15 minutes. Larger combo units and obstacle courses take 15–30 minutes with 2–3 people. Deflated and rolled, a standard 13×13 bounce house fits in a standard SUV cargo area or minivan. Larger units require a cargo van or pickup truck. Exact dimensions are listed on each product page.
Important: Anchoring is required
Every inflatable must be anchored during use — even indoors, even in calm weather. Use the included ground stakes on grass, or sandbag the anchor points on hard surfaces like asphalt and concrete. Never allow an inflatable to operate unanchored. Most included stake kits work for grass; rent or purchase sandbags for hard surface events.
Shipping & What's Included
Q: What comes with my inflatable?
Every order typically includes: the inflatable unit, a commercial-grade blower (matched to the unit's size), a repair kit, ground stakes, and a storage/carry bag. Some specialty units or accessories may vary — always check the product page for the exact inclusions for that specific item.
Q: What size box will my inflatable arrive in?
Box size varies by unit. Smaller bounce houses typically arrive in one carton; larger combo units and obstacle courses may ship in 2–3 cartons via freight. All orders ship freight with cargo insurance to the contiguous 48 states at no additional charge. You'll receive tracking information when your order ships (usually within 1–3 business days).
Q: Is shipping really free?
Yes — free freight shipping with cargo insurance is included on all orders to the contiguous US. No hidden fees at checkout. For orders over $500, you also receive 100 free multi-colored pit balls with coupon code PITBALL100. Orders typically arrive in 5–10 business days from shipment date.
