I’d owned a Snorkel Hot Tub previously and wanted something similar, but smaller. And I wanted to find a tub that didn’t take as long or as much attention as the Snorkel Hot Tub. And I didn’t want to spend $4000 or more.
The Aleko two-person charcoal-fired hot tub totally matched what I was looking for. It’s small, compact, easy to set up, and very efficient. Where it used to take 4+ hours of constant fire tending to bring my former hot tub to temperature, the Aleko hot tub comes to full temperature in about 3 hours and requires no additional work or attention once you get the charcoal lit; just go about your business and come back, stir, and enjoy.
I did make some changes to make it work better. It continued to leak where the stove opened in the bottom so I applied silicone caulk (included) around that opening and I also lifted the tub a couple of inches so that the ash, as it fell into the water filled tray (included) didn’t pile up and block the airflow. Other than that I’ve just enjoyed the hell out of it. I appreciate that it comes with a locking, insulated cover and it’s pretty ideal for one or two people.
